Young Royals is an emotional drama, and it’s so important that teens see that everyone struggles. There’s anxiety, depression, stress, and panic attacks. She’s used to people thinking she’s weird, and she has a hard time making friends. Together, Felice and Sarah offer one another exactly what the other one needs.Įven though these teenagers all attend a very prestigious school, each and every one is battling their own demons. Of course Sarah still has her own insecurities. In fact, Felice refers to Sarah’s Asperger’s as her “superpower.” Felice envies how Sarah is not afraid to speak the truth and just be herself. She’s brutally honest, and genuine to the core. What I love most about Sarah, is she isn’t afraid to be herself. My favorite character, Sarah, has Asperger’s and ADHD. Above all, he craves a simple, ordinary life. Being a Royal, he doesn’t like his private life to be so out in the open. Wilhelm certainly has a lot on his plate. Watching Wilhelm navigate his insecurities all while trying to follow his heart, is something I feel teens will find relatable. After all, it’s not exactly what is expected of a prince. Wilhelm is struggling with coming out as being gay. In fact, I’d say this was the main storyline in the series. The LGBTQ storyline was done exceptionally well. There was a lot I liked about Young Royals. However, that is really the only similarity. I found it ironic that our main character is named Prince Wilhelm.

While the series itself has nothing to do with the Royal Family we know, I found it interesting nonetheless.
