The service itself was fine the problem came when I went to check out. After paying a ridiculous $ 90 (not including tip) for the haircut, which I will admit was decent, I washed the gunk out of my hair and decided I will not be returning.ĭon’t Buy Zazu Gift Cards! Yesterday I had a mani-pedi at Zazu. A frizzy, poofy mess that was sticky with all the product dumped on it. I wish I had taken a picture of my hair leaving that salon because it was just hilarious. As a style for my hair, Glen decided to make it curly. I didn’t speak to him much during the appointment because it was unpleasant to hear all of his rude comments about my hair (saying I don’t take care of it because it is dry even though I’m just currently on medication that dries me out, calling it frumpy, etc) and towards the end of the cut, he told me he didn’t enjoy talking to me because I wasn’t «fun». He was so arrogant and insulting that I almost walked out as soon as I sat down in the chair, but I decided to stick it out. I go in for my appointment and all is well until I have the «pleasure» of meeting Glen. Different stylists have different prices? Good to know! I told her I just wanted a simple cut so I wasn’t looking for anything extravagant and she set up an appointment with Glen for the following day. I spoke with the receptionist who was pleasant, but I was taken by surprise when she asked what «price range» I would like to be in for my cut. On a whim, I decided I needed a haircut and called Zazu for an appointment. I used to go to Zazu on a regular basis, but switched salons to find something less expensive when my wonderful stylist moved. If you’re looking for an unprofessional salon that won’t do the basics for you and will rip you off, Zazu is definitely the place to go. My hair is a bit shinier and manageable due to it but everything else was horrible. The only reason why I’m adding an extra star in this review is for the conditioning treatment. I walked out of Zazu regretting giving it a chance. I’m used to going to expensive salons to get my hair done and don’t have a problem paying a little more than average but for my experience, I knew I was being overcharged. Some of my ends had a nice curl while the other ends had a wave. She took a hair straightener and went over my ends with it. After all she is a hair stylist so she must know what she’s talking about, right? Wrong. Reluctantly I stayed quiet and let her do her thing. She told me she was going to go over it with a curler. I like my hair to have a little volume in it so I asked her to blow dry it with a bit of a curl on the bottoms. When it came time for her to blow dry my hair, she burned me a few times. She gave me a nice trimming without taking much length off which is what I asked for. My hair stylist talked to me about my hair and listened to my needs. I have heard that there is a complimentary neck massage as well but I was not given one. She offered me a conditioning treatment for an additional charge. My hair stylist came to get me and immediately took me to the washing station.
i waited for my hairstylist and was not offered any beverages while I was waiting. By this time, I was a little annoyed by the unprofessionalism that I had experienced. She later pointed me to another area where there were two receptionist who made me wait another 5 minutes. When I came in for my appointment, I was waiting for the receptionist for 10 minutes while she was on the phone. A bit unprofessional for such a highly respectable salon but I still made an appointment. When she placed me off of hold, she did not say anything for a few minutes so I was able to hear everything that was being said in the salon. The receptionist put me on hold for 5 minutes. I called the morning of to place an appointment. I normally go to Mario Tricoci but my hair stylist left the state and I have yet to find a stylist who I am in love with to do my hair so I was open to trying out Zazu. One of my friends recommended Zazu to get my hair cut.
